Our next regular meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday 2/29 at 5:30pm at Nacho Mama's in downtown Augusta. We have reserved the upstairs balcony, and we hopefully will be able get some work accomplished and then turn this into an after-work/school social gathering to get to know each other and build camaraderie among the group. Business goals include structural organization, vision/mission, leadership, and the first steps of action. We will also discuss our group plans (if any) for the upcoming National LGBT Health Awareness Week. Please visit the upcoming page or contact us for more info.
Our NEW name: GHSU Equality
Our NEW structure statement: We are an independant organization of administrators, faculty, staff, and students within the Georgia Health Sciences enterprise. OUR VISION: From fear to safety, comfort, and being ourselves. From ignorance to awareness and understanding. From a selectively privileged system to equality of rights and benefits. Today’s action request: Please help set the date for our next meeting. (Unfortunately, the date we set during the retreat turns out NOT to work.) As determined at the retreat, we will meet 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Partridge Inn on a weekday. Please use this link to our scheduling tool: http://www.doodle.com/4868twrnamthrtn6 Welcome to the new website for our budding LGBTQQ equality organization. Please look around and feel free to share your comments below so we can ensure that this reflects the voice of the whole group! As always, continue to spread the word.
Our next meeting will be held at the Partridge Inn from 1 to 4 pm on Saturday, January 28th. We will be focused on generating a defined mission statement, goals, and name and beginning to set up leadership structure. Representatives from UGA GLOBES will join us to share their experience. More info & RSVP on the Upcoming page.

Our new email listserv is now active. Click Here to request to join. This private listserv will allow anyone to contact the group as a whole in order to facilitate open, two-way communication and input from all members as we develop our organization. The listname is temporary and will be updated once the final group name is established. |
