GRU Equality is turning 1!!!
Come out to Nacho Mama's Monday 1/28 from 6 to 8 pm to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the formation of the first fully inclusive, university-&-health-sytem-wide LGBTQ-straight alliance at MCG. In the past year, we have made many strides toward our vision of a more equal and accepting campus community, and we could never have been successful without the support from our many members, allies, colleagues, and friends. We plan to unveil our new "GRU" logo and website and share highlights of our plans for 2013. So, come celebrate, socialize, relax, and get excited for another successful year!
All are welcome regardless of sexual or gender identity or affiliation with GRU. Please invite co-workers, supervisors, spouses, lovers, friends, and family. Feel free to come late or leave early if you have a prior commitment. Let us know if you have any question, comments, concerns.
This upcoming Thursday is National Coming Out Day! And what better way to celebrate than to get together with supportive friends and colleagues and celebrate who we are!
I will be hosting at 1710 Holly Hill Road. It's less than 5 minutes from campus, off Kissingbower Road just past Pendelton King Park down from Wrightsboro Road on the Hill. We will get started around 6 and go to around 8 or till people get tired of each other. Feel to come early or leave late if your schedule demands it. GHSU Equality will be providing the pizza. (And, Tyler and I promise not to just get all sausage.) We just ask you to bring a side (chips, cookies, salad, etc.) or a drink (soda, juice, adult beverage, etc.) to go along with it, but if you can't bring something that's fine too cause bringing yourself is what's important. I have a fenced-in yard and a very social beagle, so feel free to bring your furry friends if you want.
As always, anyone & everyone is welcome to attend regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Allies are especially encouraged to join us. Partners, spouses, lovers, life-mates, boy/girlfriends, roommates and any other significant others are also more than welcome regardless of GHSU affiliation. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD. We are limited in advertising so please talk to your classmates and co-workers and bring people along.
We are an independent gay-straight alliance of faculty, staff, and graduate/professional students at Georgia Regents University with a mission to build a supportive environment for all our LGBTQ employees, students, patients, & visitors. Thank you for your support!
