4th Annual Come Out for Health Week
LGBTQ Patient-Provider Panel
Monday, March 23rd at 12pm, J. Harold Harrison Education Commons
We are proud to kick off our FOURTH annual Come Out for Health Week with our signature event, the patient-provider panel. The panel will once again feature a diverse collection of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer (LGBTQ) community of the CSRA who will share their experiences as a sexual and gender minority accessing health care. This year some patients will be recruited from those receiving care at the recently opened Equality Clinic, which will provide an exciting addition to the panel and a great look into what that clinic has meant to the community. Practicing providers will also be present to share their perspective on caring for LGBT patients and/or being an LGBT-identified health professional. The goal of the session is to allow attendees to hear directly from patients about why LGBT health should be an important concern and what they can do to best care for their LGBT patients.
The panel will be held Monday, March 23rd from noon to 1 pm in the J. Harold Harrison Commons in the Hull Family Hall lecture room on the first floor. We are grateful for the continued support of this event by the MCG Office of Student & Multicultural Affairs at GRU, who will be generously providing lunch for the first 50 attendees.
