Please join GRU Equality, the MCG Office of Student and Multicultural Affairs, the GRU Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the GRU College of Nursing, Lambda Alliance at GRU, and the entire GRU community as we celebrate LGBT Health Awareness Week 2014 with a full week of educational events focused on the health needs, disparities, and concerns of LGBTQ people. Events this year include a patient-provider panel & community resource fair, a workshop on policies and practices relevant to LGBT patient care, a keynote address on diversity and inclusion from a leader in LGBT nursing, a screening of a documentary on transgender primary care, and the launching of a new training initiative at GRU. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to join us in order to raise their awareness of LGBT health issues and develop the clinical knowledge & skills to improve the everyday healthcare experiences of patients from the LGBTQ community & their providers. For more information visit the Come Out for Health website or facebook page.
